How is Tread different from Toro TMS?
Built around construction materials
Toro TMS serves bulk carriers across commodities, from grain and fertilizer to aggregates. Tread supports grain and fertilizer too, but most Tread customers move aggregates, asphalt, dirt, and other construction materials, and the product is built around that work. Producers and contractors can run their own Tread too, so everyone on a job sees the same trucks in real time.
A mobile app for every role
Toro sends dispatches to drivers over text. Tread gives drivers, dispatchers, foremen, and admins a native iOS and Android app. Drivers get the job, capture tickets, and log time in one place, and foremen approve timesheets from their own phone. Drivers without the app can still accept jobs by text.
AI ticket reading and digital scale tickets
Toro collects ticket photos from drivers. Tread’s AI reads ticket images and also takes digital tickets straight from WEM, Astec, and Command Alkon scale systems and matches each one to the right dispatch.

Tread vs Toro TMS: common questions
Can Tread replace Toro TMS?
For construction-materials hauling, yes. Tread covers orders, dispatch, driver app, tickets, approvals, invoicing, and driver and hauler settlements in one system. Tread does not offer maintenance tracking today, so keep a separate tool for that if you use it in Toro TMS.
How long does switching take?
Tread can be live in as little as a day, and self-onboarding is available. How fast the whole fleet rolls out depends on its size. Our team can load your data and train your people for you.
Do we have to re-enter customers, rates, and sites?
No. Our onboarding team loads your trucks, third-party haulers, customers, materials, rates, and integrations into Tread for you.
Can we run both during the switch?
You set the go-live date with our team. Your data is loaded and your people are trained before that day, so you decide when dispatch moves over.
How is Tread priced compared to Toro TMS?
Tread charges one annual price based on your estimated annual load volume. Every plan includes users and trucks, so adding a dispatcher, driver, or truck does not change the price. Implementation is a one-time $10,000 fee in year one. Toro TMS does not publish prices. Its site says it offers month-to-month contracts.
Do drivers need a new app?
Not for every step. Drivers can accept a job by text message with no app. The Tread app on iOS or Android, in English, Spanish, and Punjabi, adds tickets, timesheets, and messaging with dispatch. Drivers do not pay for it. Users are included in your plan.
