NMDOT made e-ticketing optional starting with the July 2024 bid letting, using HaulHub. According to NMDOT's research project record, e-ticketing became mandatory starting with the September 2025 bid letting on projects with more than 10,000 tons of asphalt. We did not find the contract special provision itself, so check each bid.
Required on some projects: E-tickets are required only on contracts that include the provision or meet a size threshold.

What contractors should do
- Check the asphalt tonnage and special provisions on each NMDOT bid; over 10,000 tons, plan for e-tickets.
- Get your asphalt supplier connected to the NMDOT HaulHub portal before paving starts.
- Look for an e-ticketing bid item in the contract; NMDOT has reimbursed equipment costs through one.
- Keep a paper-ticket fallback for areas without cell coverage; confirm the procedure with the project engineer.
What haulers should do
- Confirm the truck ID your dispatcher enters matches the number on your truck.
- Ask the contractor whether tickets will be electronic, paper, or both on each job.
