Time cards and tickets go missing
Hired haulers hand in paper at the end of the week, or weeks later. Some of it never shows up.
For paving, highway, and site-work contractors
Put your own trucks and your hired haulers on one board. Get tickets and time cards from the truck, approved by the foreman and coded to the job.

How does Tread manage hired haulers?
Tread gives paving, highway, and site-work contractors one system for their own trucks and hired haulers. Dispatch by app or text. Track trucks live through the Tread app or telematics. Drivers send tickets and time cards from the truck, AI reads them, and foremen approve loads and hours with cost codes. Approved work becomes hauler settlements and accounting exports.
The problem
Hired haulers hand in paper at the end of the week, or weeks later. Some of it never shows up.
Without a live view of the truck line, the superintendent finds out about a gap when the paver stops.
Foremen approve loads and hours on paper, days after the work, from memory.
Someone matches every ticket to a time card before a hauler gets paid, and the hauler calls when it is late.
Trucking hits the job cost report once the hauler invoices arrive, too late to change the plan.
State e-ticketing programs want weight, location, and time data on every load. Paper tickets do not have it.
How Tread handles it
Add each hauler company and its trucks to Tread next to your own fleet. Our team can load your haulers, rates, and projects and train your people before you go live.
Track insurance certificates, W-9s, DOT numbers, and any other document you require for each hauler, driver, and truck. Tread flags documents that are expired or expire within 30 days. For the documents you choose, dispatchers get a warning before they send a truck that is missing one.
Put company trucks and hired haulers on one dispatch board. Drivers with the Tread app get the job in the app. Drivers without it get a text and reply YES or NO. Dispatchers and drivers message each other inside Tread.
Follow company and hired trucks on one map, with GPS from the Tread driver app or from telematics providers. Geofences timestamp each arrival and departure at the plant and the job. On paving orders, the Paver Tracker integration moves the job geofence with the paver.
Drivers photograph tickets in the app or text them in. AI reads printed and handwritten tickets with 95%+ accuracy, checks quantity, date, and ticket number, and matches each ticket to its dispatch. Tread flags duplicate ticket numbers. It reads time cards too and checks start and end times, breaks, and net hours. Tread’s AI agent can follow up with drivers who haven’t sent their tickets.
Tread’s digital tickets capture the weight, GPS, and timestamp data that state e-ticketing programs ask for.
Foremen approve loads and hours from the Tread app. Cost and phase codes go on the hours at approval, so trucking cost lands on the right job while the work is still running.
Approved loads and hours become a settlement for each hauler at the hauler rate set on the project. The customer rate is set separately. Every line carries its ticket, so a hauler can check the math without calling you.
Settlements go to QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop as bills.

“We used to spend half our day dealing with paper tickets. With Tread, every ticket is digital, every load is tracked, and we invoice the same day.”

No. Drivers can get a job by text and reply YES or NO to accept it. They text ticket photos to a Tread number, and AI reads them like any other ticket. Drivers who want the app can use it on iOS or Android, in English, Spanish, or Punjabi.
Yes. You choose which documents each hauler, driver, and truck needs, such as an insurance certificate, W-9, or DOT number, and add expiration dates. Tread flags expired documents and ones that expire within 30 days. You can also set any document type to warn dispatchers when it is missing or expired.
Tread turns approved loads and hours into a settlement for each hauler, using the hauler rate set on the project. Settlements go to QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop as bills. You pay the hauler from your accounting system.
Tread syncs with QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop.
Tread’s digital tickets capture the weight, GPS, and timestamp data that state e-ticketing programs ask for. Check your state program’s requirements for each contract.
Yes. Foremen approve loads and hours in the Tread app and add cost and phase codes to the hours. Tread flags duplicate ticket numbers and AI flags mismatches first, and your team makes the final call.
Tread can be live in as little as a day, and self-onboarding is available. How fast every hauler rolls on depends on the size of your fleet. Our team can load your data and train your foremen and dispatchers for you.
Tread charges one annual price based on the features you need and your estimated annual load volume. Plans start at $1,250 a month (billed annually); Enterprise pricing is custom. Users and trucks are included, so adding hired haulers costs nothing extra.
